What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Butte Creek Falls is a stunning natural gem with the unique draw of walking behind a waterfall. Visitors praise its beauty and the immersive experience, though the challenging unpaved road access and occasional bee encounters are noted drawbacks. It's a rewarding destination for those prepared for the journey.
"At 6 feet 3 inches tall, I had to 'squat walk' under the super low ceiling to get to the back wall for some cool photos behind the falls. I didn't hit my head, but it was quite taxing trying to avoid doing so. And since there is less oxygen all the way back, you really have to pace yourself while squat walking, so my advise for people over 2 feet tall: wear knee pads and gloves and crawl in and out. Your head, back and quads will thank you."

"This should be five stars im sure. Starting the trail, there was a sign advising for bees nearby. Shortly after walking the trail, there were bees that attacked us and we had to turn back. However, we were able to see extraordinary views of the waterfall. It was very easy to access and parking was fairly open. Any car would be okay to take this trip."

"The road to get to this place is unpaved, curved, dusty and is basically on the edge of a cliff. Even with my car in “off road mode” I was super nervous and actually turned around and left without reaching the actual destination. Please be prepared for this nerve wracking 5-7 miles of unpaved driving. You should really be in a 4x4 vehicle and have some off-road / unpaved driving experience. As I said, you’re pretty much driving on the edge of a cliff. Know your limits and don’t be afraid to say no and turn around."
