Kristoffer Ajer

Kristoffer Ajer is a tall, ball-playing centre-back who developed into one of Celtic's most important defenders during a formative spell in Glasgow before Brentford paid a significant fee to bring him to the Premier League. At 6ft 5in he is dominant aerially, but his real value lies in his ability to carry the ball out from the back and play through pressure — qualities that suit Thomas Frank's Brentford system well. For Norway he is a cornerstone of the defensive unit, combining with Leo Østigård and others in a back line that Stale Solbakken has worked to make more compact and aggressive.
