Nikola Moro is a technically assured central midfielder who progressed through Dinamo Zagreb before a spell at Dynamo Moscow and a subsequent move to Bologna, where he has established himself in Serie A. Comfortable in possession and capable of driving forward from deep, Moro offers Croatia a more progressive option in midfield compared to purely defensive alternatives. Still only 28, he represents the next generation of Croatian midfielders looking to fill the considerable void left by Luka Modric's international retirement, bringing Serie A experience and composure on the ball to a squad in transition.
