Rúben Neves became the youngest captain in Porto's history and announced himself to European football as a teenager with a series of stunning long-range goals in the Championship for Wolves, where he spent five seasons as the midfield anchor of a well-organised side. His passing range, positional discipline, and ability to screen the defence made him one of the best deep-lying midfielders in the Premier League. He moved to Al-Hilal in 2023, which has inevitably reduced his visibility, but his international standing with Portugal remains solid. He brings structure and calm to a midfield that can sometimes overcrowd forward positions.
